The Devoted Temple Sweeper

Once, there was a humble sweeper who worked at a famous temple. He was sincere, devoted, and loved serving God with all his heart.

Every day, he watched thousands of devotees come to receive the Lord's blessings. Looking at the deity standing silently throughout the day, he often thought,

"The Lord must get tired standing here all day, blessing everyone."

One day, with childlike innocence, he prayed,

"Lord, may I take Your place for just one day so You can rest?"

To his surprise, the Lord answered.

"I don't mind taking a day's rest," the Lord said. "I will let you take My place, but you must follow one important rule."

"You must stand here exactly as I do—smile at everyone, bless them silently, and do not interfere with anything you see. Do not speak. Simply trust that I have a perfect plan for every situation."

The sweeper gladly agreed.

The Missing Wallet

The next morning, the sweeper stood in the place of the deity.

Soon, a wealthy businessman entered the temple. He offered a generous donation and prayed for greater success in his business. As he left, he accidentally forgot his wallet, which was filled with money.

The sweeper noticed it immediately but remembered the Lord's instruction to remain silent.

A little later, a poor man entered the temple. He placed his last coin into the donation box and prayed,

"The poor man offered his final coin with complete faith. I intended for him to receive the wallet because he would use the money wisely and for good."

"And the sailor..."

The Lord paused.

"If the sailor had left on his journey that night, a violent storm would have sunk his ship, and he would have lost his life. Being arrested for a short time would have saved him from a far greater tragedy."

The Lord looked compassionately at the sweeper.

"But because you believed you knew better than Me, you interrupted My plan."
